John Connors a native of Troy is know for his local and New york City street scenes. He studied artistic anatomy and painting on scholarship at The Art Students League of New York where he mentored under Robert Beverly Hale for four years and was awarded a Fine Arts Certificate of Completion . He also studied Sumi-e (Japanese brush painting) including studies in Japan.
John is a former Navy Corpsman, and served with the Marine Corps Air Wing. He has worked in caregiving in many critical cases. “ Reality, has been my biggest influence , I take great joy in the ordinary , without shadows there would be no light “ . John has exhibited extensively and has taught both in the capital Region and New York City and has three books out of his paintings
